Norwegian Epic to sail Europe in 2011
Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that its largest and most innovative Freestyle Cruising ship to date, Norwegian Epic, debuting this July, will summer in the Mediterranean as part of her 2011/2012 deployment. The ship will sail a seven-day Western Mediterranean itinerary from Barcelona, Spain from May through October 2011. Ports of call include: Florence/Pisa (Livorno); Rome (Civitavecchia); Naples, Italy; and Palma, Majorca, Spain, along with two full days at sea. These cruises, along with the ship's Caribbean and transatlantic sailings for 2011/2012, go on sale to Latitudes members (Norwegian's past guests), and the company's top travel partners on Wednesday, January ...
Experience the Divi Little Bay on St. Maarten
St. Maarten - If you're looking for a quiet slice of paradise in the Caribbean, you may want to consider the Divi Little Bay, located on the 45 square mile island that is St. Maarten/St. Martin. The island itself offers visitors to experience Caribbean culture with a mixed Dutch and French influence. St. Martin was discovered in 1493 on Christopher Columbus' second voyage to the New World. The island has been split between Dutch and French control since the signing of the Treaty of Concordia in 1648 and remained pretty much the same for the next 350 years. The northern side ...
Seeing the sights in Ocho Rios Jamaica
Ocho Rios, Jamaica (Cruise News Network)- I’ve been to Jamaica several times over the years and each visit to this beautiful island is more different than the next. We’re not your typical hotel and resort family. We like to get out and meet the people where we go and do what they do, not what Sandals wants you to do. We like to introduce our children to cultures around the world so she can see what it’s like outside of America and to appreciate all that we have. In Ocho Rios, we have a friend named Ken who I call on ...
Ocho Rios Jamaica – A family travel guide
Ocho Rios, Jamaica – Ocho Rios, or Ochi is a very popular cruise ship destination set far away from the hustle and bustle of Jamaica’s major ports of Kingston and Montego Bay. For many family travellers, Jamaica is sometimes a nervous experience the first time you go after hearing stories of depressed inner city political strife, gang violence and unsafe places for tourists. Those are all accurate representations of certain places within the larger cities, but Ocho Rios is a sleepy shore tourist community and the residents understand the importance of the tourism industry. Right at the terminal in Ocho Rios ...
Tabyana Beach – The hidden jewel of Roatan
Roatan, Honduras – On my first trip to Honduras, I didn’t know what to expect. I was an illinformed American with visions of worn out beach side shanties on stilts as my only other impression of Central America had been Belieze City. I figured Honduras surely must be a notch down. I admit, I was cautious about bringing my family to Roatan because of the troubles of mainland Honduras. I had originally written this article before June’s travel advisory from the U.S. State Department, but felt compelled to finish it in hopes that the advisory will soon be lifted and tourists can ...
Discovering Altun Ha Mayan Ruins in Belize
Belize City, Belize - There’s many places in life you never expect to go or would not plan on visiting and Belize was subconsciouslyalways on that list for me. Belize was that Central American country in high school geography that was always the easy test question as were most Central American countries whose capital city is just some form of the country name with city thrown at the end of it. What is the capital of Belize? Belize City. It was always easier to remember than Tegucigalpa, which I somehow did manage to remember because of its oddity. By this point, I’m ...
What to do in Barbados – Charles Fort Cannon Walk at Barbados Hilton
Bridgetown, Barbados - Just south of Bridgetown in Barbados, you’ll find one of the nicest stretches of beaches in the Caribbean from Carlisle Bay to Needham Point. Mixed in these beautiful and picturesque beaches, you’ll find Charles Fort on the grounds of the Barbados Hilton. The fort was built in 1650 by the British Navy to protect the capital of Bridgetown and Carlisle Bay from attack by Pirates, Spaniards and whoever else might have come by to take the Island away from the British. After years of neglect, the fort has been restored into a historical eco park of sorts. A brick lined ...

Cozumel prescription medication brand names and counterfeits
Cruise News Network - Coach pocket books, Cuban cigars, designer brands and yes, prescription drugs can all be found at huge discounts in Cozumel, but buyer beware, because you get what you pay for. I've been to Cozumel many times over the years and one thing that always stands out is the availability of low cost products that normally cost a fortune elsewhere. In Cozumel, the Mexican drug stores are as big of a tourist attraction as the beaches and hotels on the island because they offer over the counter prescription drugs for a fraction of the cost you would find ...
Cane Garden Bay Tortola
Tortola seemed to be the less wealthy red headed step sister of St. Thomas on my first visit to the island. The island in many ways is very similar to St. Thomas, but natural land formations and beaches aside, that's there the comparison ended. Tortola is located just east of St. Thomas, on the opposite side of St. John. Tortolla has many wonderful beaches including Apple Bay, Long Bay, Brewers Bay and Smuggler's Bay, but on our one day excursions to the island from St. Thomas, we chose to visit Cane Garden Bay, dotted by small beach bars in a lush ...
